What the college says
The Morley Chamber Orchestra offers players a unique opportunity to explore rich and rewarding repertoire in a welcoming and collaborative ensemble. Open to adult learners and community musicians, this course focuses on developing ensemble skills, musical interpretation, and confidence in orchestral playing. With special encouragement for violinists to join, participants will enjoy rehearsing and performing beautiful works from the Baroque to contemporary periods in a supportive, non-competitive setting. Each term introduces a new selection of chamber orchestra repertoire, culminating in an informal performance or open rehearsal sharing.
What you need to get on
There is an audition process, but entry is also by recommendation or application to the conductor. A level of ABRSM Grade 7/8 or comparable standard is needed and ideally some depth of previous orchestral experience.
