What the college says

Students are introduced to the skills required to analyse a wide range of media products and will produce a range of products including graphic novels websites podcasts and film trailers. Students will then analyse the texts using different critical frameworks this is also preparation for the examination at the end of the AS year. There is a large practical component to the course and students are required to produce a media product to a brief they have designed themselves. Hours of Lessons per Week : 4.3 Indicative Group Size: 22

What you need to get on

Anyone who is interested in working in the media or who wishes to study an arts course to degree level. You should enjoy reading widely and have a critical analytical mind. The course has a high emphasis on practical activities so if you are good at organising yourself and meeting deadlines the course will suit you. You will need six full GCSEs at grades A* to C including English Language.

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
