What the college says

This is a one year course designed for students who did not achieve a grade 4 in their Mathematics GCSE. The course will re-cap all of the material covered at high school and will be delivered in a friendly and supportive environment. You will be set weekly achievable tasks, with regular feedback letting you know how you are progressing. You will be well supported as you try to overcome this often challenging hurdle. Your teacher will discuss this with you and together you will decide your best option to achieve success within the academic year. The two final exams are taken in the summer. Throughout the course, you will be encouraged to record and review your own progress and support will be available on all aspects of the course throughout the year. If you enrol on the course with a Grade D you will be given the opportunity to re-take your GCSE Maths exams in November or in March if you feel that you only just missed out on the benchmark Grade C last time.

If you enrol onto a course of study at Cardinal Newman College without at least a grade 3 in GCSE Maths then it will be compulsory for you to take this course.

Entry level and Level 1 study, English and maths retakes, and supported programmes.
