What the college says
This is an intensive course which focuses on the development of mathematical skills through the various aspects of mathematics. The course is specifically designed to meet the needs of the post-16 student aiming to progress towards a grade 4. It is primarily teacher-led with three taught lessons per week plus at least one hour of independent study to consolidate your learning.
What you need to get on
The Government requires students who have not achieved a grade 4 (or higher) to re-sit GCSE or Functional Skills Maths. For students who have already achieved a grade 4 or higher, there is an opportunity to study for a higher grade.
How you are assessed
Entry level and Level 1 study, English and maths retakes, and supported programmes.
What this level means
The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
