This course can be studied alongside 2 A Levels or 1 A Level and 1 vocational course (as part of our 2+1 offer). A Level Mathematics builds on and extends GCSE knowledge and skills and introduces new ideas, such as calculus and its applications. It emphasises how mathematical ideas are interconnected and how these ideas can be applied to model situations mathematically. There is a strong emphasis on logical reasoning and problem-solving and you will learn to use your mathematical skills and techniques to solve challenging problems. What does it combine with? What you need to get on

GCSE Maths grade 6-9 Four GCSEs grade 4-9 An overall average of a grade 4*. Following your application you will normally be offered a place subject to achieving the entry requirements and attending a welcome taster. *To work out your grade average, add all of your grades together and divide by the number of GCSEs you've taken.
