If the idea of working on boats and marine engines appeals this course gives you a hands-on route into the sector. You will learn to service and maintain inboard and outboard engines and propulsion systems in one of the largest marine training workshops in the UK. It is a strong foundation for Level 3 progression and a wide range of marine engineering careers.

What you need to get on

Entry requirements for external applicants and school leavers • Three or more GCSEs, including maths at grade 4 and the others at grade 3 or above, or successful completion of a relevant Level 1 qualification and GCSE maths grade 4 or equivalent. Entry requirements for existing learners with the Cornwall College Group • Successful completion of previous course and maths and/or English GCSE at grade 4 or above and the other at grade 3.
