What the college says

The purpose of the Level 2 Technical Make-up Artistry programme, is to enable students to not only learn, improve and develop their existing skillset within the units, but also to ensure that we encourage them to become employable. It is imperative that all Level 2 students understand that they need to develop certain attributes in order to succeed in the industry. There are many attributes that the industry require, such as resilience, confidence, pro-activity, commitment, motivation and confidence. Throughout the program, we will help the students to attain and improve these industry specific attributes to enable them to become more employable in the industry. We learn a wide variety of skills throughout, which will help the students to decide on their career moves. From Level 2, students can progress to Level 3. Then university, employment or self employment. As well as practical skills in hairdressing, make-up and body painting, we also encourage digital skills, website production, portfolio building and work experience. Tutorials and wellness will also help to develop empathy and other attributes that make us more well-rounded individuals. What you need to get on

Learning a trade with tools and equipment, often in a college workshop or salon.

The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
