Linear 'A' level Physics
at Caistor Grammar School, Market Rasen · school or sixth form
What the college says
Studying physics at school is excellent preparation for a range of challenging and rewarding degree courses and careers both inside and out of the sciences. This is why it is one of the ‘facilitating subjects’ most frequently cited as essential for entry onto courses at Russell Group universities. A degree in physics has been worth considerably above average for some time, and this is likely to be the case for the foreseeable future. The CBI recently stated that 43% of employers are finding it difficult to recruit workers with skills in science, engineering, maths and technology and are therefore paying a premium for them. There are many degree courses that can be considered by a keen student taking Physics A level. For example Medicine and Medical Physics: Astrophysics and Geophysics: Electronics and Computing Content 1. Measurements and their errors 2. Particles and Radiation 3. Waves 4. Mechanics and Materials 5. Electricity 6.1 Further Mechanics and Thermal Physics 6.2 Fields and their consequences 7 Nuclear Physics 8 Medical Physics
