This qualification covers the fundamentals of the uniformed protective services sector and is designed to support learners who want to progress in a career in a diverse range of areas in the emergency services (police, fire and rescue) or the armed services (army, royal air force, royal navy and royal marines) This is a two year study programme which is equivalent to 3 A Levels, however a one year option is also available which is equivalent to 1.5 A Levels. Both programme years will accrue UCAS points should your chosen progression route be a UK university. A large portion of the weekly timetable is conducted at Rosliston Forestry Centre. Rosliston is a great place for learners to grasp service routine before learning skills directly connected to the services. Learners will conduct research into possible career paths as well as physical and personal development. This fast paced course will allow you to develop your personal confidence and resilience alongside the technical skills the services require and to make you stand out from the crowd in interviews. A range of work experience, industry engagement, visits and expeditions enhance the classroom-based sessions to advance learners’ understanding and the nature of possible future careers within the proactive services and link together a number of different units. Applicants will be expected to have a minimum of 4 GCSEs at grade 4 including English and maths (or) A level 2 subject specific qualification including a level 2 or equivalent in English and maths (or) An equivalent occupational experience including a level 2 or equivalent in English and maths
