As a dental nurse you play a key role in supporting dentists in caring for patients. This programme focuses on the knowledge and skills that you require to register with the General Dental Council and work as a Dental Nurse. It enables you to learn and train on the job as well as giving you a registerable qualification You will learn as you carry out your normal duties, with the support of a Trainer/Assessor who will visit you in your workplace to carry out observations of your practice during your working hours throughout your course. You will also be expected to attend taught sessions which will provide you with the specialist knowledge underpinning the two summative MCQ exams.
What you need to get on
You must be working as a trainee dental nurse in a dental practice with a minimum of 18 hours chairside responsibilities per week. You must hold GCSE English at grade 3-9 or be able to demonstrate that you are working at that level during an initial assessment
