This qualification has been designed as a one-year, full-time course that supports progression to an apprenticeship in engineering or to a second year of study at Level 3. Resulting in an Extended DIploma in Engineering, which will earn UCAs points. The qualification is equivalent in size to 1.5 A levels and aims to introduce study of the engineering sector. Engineering covers a broad variety of roles and has a focus on a broad range of engineering specialist areas. This course will give the learner opportunity during practice in developing employability skills such as cognitive and problem-solving, intrapersonal and interpersonal skills.

Entry requirements for the course are a minimum of three GCSEs at grade 4 or above including English and Maths.
