If you are over 16 years old and interested in sports coaching and sports development, the BTEC Level 3 Extended Certificate in Sports Coaching might be the perfect fit for you. This course will equip you with the knowledge and skills necessary to progress to the BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Sports Coaching and Development qualification or pursue a career in the sports and recreation industries.

What you need to get on

Required to have 4 GCSEs at grades 4-9, preferably including English, Maths, and P.E. Applicants with a BTEC Level 2 Award in Sport need a Distinction grade, while those with a BTEC Level 2 Certificate in Sport need a Merit grade. You must have an interest in and choose one of the following academies on your application: Athletics, Basketball, Football, Tennis, Boxing, Flag Football, or Women?s Rugby. While it is ideal to have previous experience playing competitive sports, not necessary.

Learning a trade with tools and equipment, often in a college workshop or salon.
