This qualification develops the knowledge and skills needed when working in care settings. It contains both mandatory and optional units allowing learners to tailor the qualification to meet their needs, interests, preferred progression paths and the context of their job role. The qualification covers a wide range of areas which includes units covering: • Aspects of support • Specialisms • Clinical skills or healthcare tasks • Leadership and management skills It is aimed at all those who wish to work or are already working in health and social care settings in England. Learners will need to be working, volunteering or on practical placement, as they need to show competence in both knowledge and skills.

What you need to get on

A successful interview and GCSE Grade 4 or equivalent in English. You should have an interest in the subject, and experience of working in the sector is recommended.
