What the college says

If you are over 16 years old and have an interest in sports performance, sports leadership or fitness, the BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport may be for you. This course is designed to equip you with the knowledge, understanding and practical skills required for successful employment in the sport and recreation industries but it also prepares you for a higher national or undergraduate degree programme in Physical Education, Sports Science, Sports development or Sports coaching. On completion of the two-year programme the Level 3 Extended Diploma is equivalent to 3 A levels.

What you need to get on

You are required to have 5 GCSEs at grades 9-4 (A*-C), including English, Maths and preferably P.E. Applicants with a BTEC L2 Certificate in Sport require a Merit grade, with English and maths GCSEs at a minimum grade 4. You must have an interest and choose from one of the following academies on your application: Athletics; Basketball; Football; Tennis; Boxing or Leadership. It would be ideal that you have previous experience playing competitive sport however, not necessary.
