The BTEC Level 3 National Extended Certificate course is a single award, equivalent to one A-Level. This course will give you the flexibility and freedom to study other BTEC courses or A-Levels. You must complete a range of mandatory and optional units. These could include the following: engineering principles, delivery of engineering processes safely as a team, engineering product design and manufacture and electronic devices and circuits. This qualification is suitable for learners who wish to study engineering which then forms the foundation for work within the engineering sectors. The sectors are wide ranging, including, for example, engineering, mechanical and electrical engineering, manufacturing and automotive engineering. Successful students could also progress to study a variety of courses at university, which may include a similar range of engineering disciplines.

To study A-Levels or a Level 3 BTEC course at MV16 you must have achieved a minimum of grade 4+ in GCSE English and Maths, plus 3 grade 5's in other subject areas and to include subject specific entry requirements where stated.
