The study of Law involves understanding the systems in place and the personnel involved in making the rules and regulations which guide the conduct and behaviour of society. You will learn about the different types of Law, from Criminal Law to Civil Law, the differnces between them and the types of punishments that you can receive for breaking the law. Studying Law at A Level provides you with the ability to develop and apply legal rules to problems and construct reasoned arguments which are supported by legal authority. This makes it an A Level that can benefit all students, whether they wish to pursue a career in Law or not. However, it is an excellent opportunity to get a taste of what it would be like to study Law at university and provide a foundation for future learning to be built on.

What you need to get on

Five passes in GCSE at grade 4 or above. One of the five passes will include English at grade 4 or higher.

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.

The A-level-equivalent step, and what universities and employers ask for.
