History is considered as an excellent link or faciliating subject by Oxbridge and Russell Group universities. You would be suitable for this course if you are a hard-working student. You enjoy discussion, debate and investigation. You can develop your own viewpoints and are prepared to argue your point in both written and oral communication. You must have an inquisitive mind and you enjoy a challenge. You need to have a grade 6 in at least one Humanities subject and be able to learn and remember key dates and people. You must be prepared to talk and debate in class and ask questions. This course combines well with all Science, English and Humanities Subjects.

What you need to get on

A minimum of 5 subjects at Grade 4 or above, including at least one of GCSE English Language and GCSE Mathematics. A minimum of a grade 6 in a Humanities subject (Geography or History)

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
