The purpose of this qualification is to enable you to develop the knowledge and skills so you can engage, facilitate, educate and support clients in a gym or health club environment. By completing this qualification, you will meet industry requirements to become a Gym Instructor. As part of the course, there will be independent learning in addition to the weekly sessions. To achieve the YMCA Level 2 Certificate in Gym Instructing, you need to achieve the following units: � K/616/7823 Anatomy and Physiology for exercise for exercise and fitness instructors � M/616/7824 Providing a positive customer experience in the exercise environment � K/616/7949 Lifestyle management and health awareness � H/616/7951 Gym-based programme delivery and professional instruction � D/616/7950 Gym-based programme planning and preparation The course will runs on Wednesday evenings from 5pm to 9pm for 24 weeks at Easton College for practical sessions. Tutorials may be online or in person and self-study will be needed for the exam. The course will start on Wednesday, 2nd September.

What you need to get on

You must be aged 19 or over to complete this course. Ideally you will have some experience of gym-based exercises as participation in a variety of gym-based practical sessions will be required throughout the qualification. You should also have communication skills pitched at Level 2 which can be developed during the course. You will be required to commit to self-directed study in order to achieve this qualification. You will be required to have an interview with the course leader before enrol
