This Level 2 course provides a practical introduction to the skills required to work safely and effectively in the forestry and arboriculture industries. You will follow a seasonal work pattern, gaining a wide range of experience by working and learning on the College’s 250-hectare woodland and parkland estate. There is the opportunity to develop broader skills, which will support your progression towards a rewarding and satisfying career. Establishing a broad understanding of the working environment is vital to becoming a valued and useful member of any forestry or arboricultural business.
What you need to get on
A minimum of four GSCEs at grade 3, including English, maths and science
How you are assessed
Learning a trade with tools and equipment, often in a college workshop or salon.
What this level means
The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
