If you are progressing from the Level 1 course in Hairdressing or looking to start a career in Hairdressing this is the course for you. Upon completion of the Level 2 in hairdressing you will be required to progress to the Level 3 in Hairdressing before you will be a fully qualified Hairdresser. Working in our commercial salons you will be working to professional standards and abiding by strict health, safety and hygiene criteria in a range of services including: - Client Consultation and promoting products and services - Shampooing and Conditioning the hair and scalp - Cutting and finishing Women's and Men's Hair - Setting and Blow-drying using a range of techniques - Curling and Straightening techniques - Dressing Hair using plaiting and twisting techniques Alongside your qualification you will study or further develop your English and Maths skills to assist in your career and personal development and have the opportunity to enter competitions, listen to guest speakers and join trips to hair and beauty exhibitions Your interview and the college Welcome events, will give us the opportunity to get to know you better and ensure you have a clear understanding of the career path and course and ensure that you enrol on the right level to suit your needs. If successful in gaining a place you will be required to attend Taster Days during the summer before the start of your course. You will also carry out a practical aptitude test

What you need to get on

Entry onto this programme will require 3 GCSEs at Grade 3 or above including English and Maths. Completion of the Level 1 hairdressing qualification, and a track record of good attendance is a distinct advantage. Your acceptance on the course will be based on a successful interview and assessment of your commitment and ability to meet the demands of the course and the expectations of employers in the industry.
