Our programme in Games Design will provide you with an opportunity to begin your journey in the games design industry. Using industry software and hardware in our purpose built PC suites will give you the best possible start. You will have the opportunity to create ideas for games, as well as study how games work. You will look at what people do in the games design industry and learn how to plan and market your game. By the end of the course, you will have a range of skills that will prepare you for your next step, as well as gaining transferable skills relevant to broader fields. Delivery methods will include practical workshop sessions on motion graphics, animation, web design and games testing. Classroom-based theory sessions are supported by IT and computer-based research, educational visits to industry trade fairs and other games industry-related events. What will I study? What you need to get on

Four GCSEs at Grade 3 (D) including English Language or Literature and Maths, or an appropriate Level 1 programme with Functional Skills English and Maths at Entry 3

How you are assessed

Learning a trade with tools and equipment, often in a college workshop or salon.

What this level means

The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
