What the college says

Greater Manchester residents only. The focus of the course is to work towards a nationally recognised GCSE qualification in Maths. Develop your knowledge and improve your mathematics skills by practising exam style questions. The course focuses on both non-calculator and calculator questions. The course is intensive, from September 2021 until June 2022; classes will be at Oldham Library & Lifelong Learning Centre or online using Microsoft Teams. Classes are held during the day and evening to fit in with children’s school hours and employment.

What you need to get on

You will have already achieved a level of Maths which allows you to meet the requirements of the course. Prior to starting the course, you will join a Pre-GCSE class which will be run remotely, and this will give you an introduction to the GCSE. This will also start the process of assessing your strengths and areas to develop so you can work with your tutor on an Individual Learning Plan and personal targets to suit you.

How you are assessed

Entry level and Level 1 study, English and maths retakes, and supported programmes.
