What the college says
The programme includes research into various aspects of the painting and decorating industry, building studies and health and safety. Also covered will be painting with various paint types, hanging wall and ceiling papers, preparation work and finishes, decorative effects and textured coatings.
What you need to get on
You will need to have achieved the Level 1 Diploma in Painting and Decorating in order to join the Level 2 programme.
How you are assessed
Learning a trade with tools and equipment, often in a college workshop or salon.
What this level means
The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
