The Level 2 in Health & Social Care is aimed at Care Assistants and Support Workers currently working within the care industry, looking to attain a nationally recognised qualification. Learners are able to take one of 3 pathways in this qualification: •generic •dementia •learning disabilities. Topics covered include introduction to communication in health, social care or children’s and young people’s settings, personal development in health, social care or children’s and young people’s settings, equality and inclusion in health, social care or children’s and young people’s settings, safeguarding and protection in health and social care, the role of the health and social care worker and handling information in health and social care settings. The knowledge units within this qualification can be structured to cover those areas expected to be part of the care certificate induction process.
