What the college says
Our media course is a skills based introduction to the media industry. The course is designed to explore the fundamentals of the digital media. It focuses on developing creative skills through project based tasks, as well as completing theory units that will give you insight into the working in the media industry. You will learn Graphic Design, Video Production, Photography, Music/Audio Production and Game Design basics. You will be taught be experienced teachers, and we also support you with employability, including opportunities to speak to professionals and access mentoring, volunteering and work experience.
What you need to get on
English: Level 1 (Speaking, Listening, Reading, Writing) IT: Basic Skills Please bring your prior qualification certificates with you to your first Assessment meeting. If you don't have your certificates, we'll ask you to complete a short English and IT assessment so that we can make sure you're ready for this course.
How you are assessed
Learning a trade with tools and equipment, often in a college workshop or salon.
What this level means
The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
Is it open to 16 to 18 year olds?
