Our study programme reflects the diverse opportunities available within the media sector. It is an ideal foundation for students, providing them with an understanding of media through engagement with a wide range of internally-set projects, realistic production processes and up-to-date technologies and methodology. You will learn through a combination of workshops, practical/theory sessions, practical assignment work and regular professional practice seminars.
What you need to get on
Four GCSEs at grade 3 or above. One of these should be English or maths. Students with lower than a grade 4 in maths and/or English will resit as part of their study programme. Some previous media study would be advantageous but is not essential.
How you are assessed
Learning a trade with tools and equipment, often in a college workshop or salon.
What this level means
The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
