Our Level 2 Diploma in Beauty Therapy teaches you the essential skills to start your journey to a career as a beauty therapist. You'll learn to perform many of the most popular beauty treatments offered by salons and spas across the UK, such as nail care, waxing, and eyebrow and lash enhancement. We'll also teach you about the responsibilities and duties you'll be expected to carry out when working in a salon environment. You'll also explore sales and marketing techniques and the principles of good customer service, as well as learning about the beauty industry in the UK, health and safety legislation, and how all these elements work together in a salon environment to provide the best experience for your customers. Practical learning takes place in LCBT's own salon, where you will have the opportunity to practice your skills with real clients. We will provide you with a uniform to wear whilst you are at college. You will need to purchase the beauty kit to practice treatments for a small fee.

What you need to get on

Entry Requirements Aged 16-18 Proficient in English reading, writing, listening and speaking If you haven't achieved a minimum grade 4 in GCSE English and/or Maths, you will need to complete Functional Skills or the relevant GCSEs alongside your studies. This will be embedded into your course and is a mandatory government requirement. Overseas Applicants Evidence of your legal right to study in the UK will be required. LCBT is unable to provide any assistance with visa applications.

Learning a trade with tools and equipment, often in a college workshop or salon.

What this level means

The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
