You will build up a comprehensive range of knowledge and skills to help you reach your goal of working within the childcare sector. The aim of this qualification is to prepare applicants to work with children 0-5 years, and to gain a knowledge of working with children up to age 7 years and progress to the CACHE Level 3 Early Years Education and Care (EYE)

What you need to get on

Applicants will need 3 GCSEs at grade 3 (D) or above, with a GCSE grade 4/5 (C) or above in English Language - or - Functional Skills Level 2 Grade 3 (D) or above in Mathematics. Evidence of work experience with children is essential.

How you are assessed

Learning a trade with tools and equipment, often in a college workshop or salon.

What this level means

The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
