This course provides training in a variety of beauty skills. On successful completion of this course you will have gained a range of beauty skills relevant for employment in the sector. However, there are wider opportunities if you progress to and achieve Level 3, subject to interview and references. There are 14 mandatory beauty skills units covered on this course including: 201 Working in the beauty-related Industries 202 Follow health & safety practice in the salon 203 Client care and communication in beauty related industries 204 Provide facial skin care 205 Promote products and services to clients in a salon 206 Remove hair using waxing techniques 207 Provide manicure treatment 208 Provide pedicure treatment 210 Provide eyelash and brow treatments 215 Provide nail art 216 Salon reception duties 218 Eyelash perming 219 Provide threading services for hair removal 222 Head massage To add to your experience on the course there is also an opportunity for additional training courses held by external providers for a small fee which includes: Lashamore lash extensions Kryolan make –up courses Threading Fake bake spray tanning Ear piercing Intimate waxing
What you need to get on
Entry requirements three GCSEs at grade D or above which includes English and Maths. You will also be interviewed and must demonstrate a positive attitude and commitment to the course, supported by school reports or references.
How you are assessed
Learning a trade with tools and equipment, often in a college workshop or salon.
What this level means
The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
