This course is ideally suited to those of you who are already working in a healthcare environment, and taking this course can help tackle the outbreak of infection in hospitals and healthcare settings by helping you understand the causes and spread of infection and how you can help to control it. Hospital-based infections affect one in ten of all patients, and approximately 5,000 patients die as a result of infection each year. These infections are difficult to treat and can complicate any other illnesses, that�s why it�s so vital that there are trained staff with the knowledge and skills to combat these outbreaks. The Level 2 Certificate in the Principles of the Prevention and Control of Infection in Health Care Settings will teach you about the causes of infection and how it is spread, and give you the knowledge to help prevent and control any outbreaks. This course will also teach you about the importance of personal health and hygiene, and the how to correctly manage decontamination and cleaning.This is an online course taught over 4-8 weeks, so it offers you the flexibility to fit your studies around your existing work, training, or home-life commitments.
What you need to get on
4 GCSE qualifications (or equivalent) at grade D or 3 or above, or Level 1 vocational qualification, or Level 1 qualification in English.Additional Information:If you do not hold a suitable Level 1 qualification, or cannot provide evidence of one, you may still be able to enrol on this course following an initial assessment to test your level of literacy in English.
