If you are over 16 years old and have an interest in sports performance, sports leadership or fitness, the BTEC Level 2 at Barnet and Southgate College may be for you. Specially designed to equip you with the knowledge, understanding and practical skills required for successful employment in the sport and recreation industries, BTEC Level 2 also prepares you for the BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Sport.

What you need to get on

Required to have 4 GCSEs at grades 9 - 3, (A*- D), including English and/or Maths and preferably P.E. Alternatively, you should have a BTEC Level 1 Diploma in Sport and Active Leisure with Level 1 Functional Skills English and maths You must have an interest and choose from one of the following academies on your application: Athletics; Basketball; Football; Tennis; Boxing or Leadership. It would be ideal that you have previous experience playing competitive sport however, not necessary.

How you are assessed

One subject in depth, assessed largely through coursework and projects.

What this level means

The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
