What you need to get on
You�ll need a minimum of 4 GCSEs at grade 3/D or above. A good standard of English is required to support the theory elements of the course. If English is your second language, you�ll need to hold an ESOL Level 1 qualification. No previous hairdressing or beauty experience is needed, but you should have a genuine interest in the subject, along with enthusiasm and commitment to your studies. As this is a part-time course, you�ll also need to be prepared for regular home study alongs

Learning a trade with tools and equipment, often in a college workshop or salon.
What this level means
The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
