This qualification has been developed to provide learners with the knowledge, understanding and skills that will enable them to progress to qualifications at a higher level, to an apprenticeship or to employment in a health and social care related area. Learners will develop sector specific knowledge, understanding and skills together with underpinning transferable skills that support progression to a range of level 3 qualifications within the sector or related areas. Learners will explore a range of key topics, including: - Duty of Care in Health & Social care - Equality & Inclusion in Health & Social care - Communication in Health & social care
What you need to get on
GCSE English (or have a grade 3 and be working towards) or functional skills L2 English. Level 1 Award in Health & Care (or equivalent) You will be interviewed by the subject teachers.
How you are assessed
Learning a trade with tools and equipment, often in a college workshop or salon.
What this level means
The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
