If you want a career as a domestic or industrial plumber, heating engineer, drainage specialist, or maintenance engineer, or if you have ambitions of one day being self-employed with your own business, then the part-time Level 1 Diploma in Plumbing Studies is a fantastic place to start.This course will provide you with hands-on practical training in a number of essential skills and techniques, and introduce you to a variety of methods and materials, as well as developing your technical knowledge of plumbing.You will be taught to use a variety of hand tools and equipment, learn about different joints and plumbing systems, and how to work with both copper and plastic piping. As well as increasing your practical skills in plumbing operations, you will also develop your knowledge of electrical and scientific principles for plumbing and service engineering, giving you a great platform to start your career, or progress to further training.Note - Safety boots are requiredAll 16-18 years old who do not have min GCSE grade 4 or Level 2 Functional skills in both English and maths will be required to study English and maths alongside their vocational qualification. Additionally you will be required to complete min 45 hours of work experience.
What you need to get on
3 GCSEs at grade 2 (E) or above, including English and Maths at grade 2. Evidence of previous qualifications must be provided at interview/enrolment.
