This programme is the first step to gaining a qualification in the Construction Industry; this course will give you an insight into a number of different vocational areas enabling you to experience a wide range of Construction skills. This course would suit learners who would like a challenging career within a vibrant industry such as the Construction Industry but as yet do not know their chosen pathway.. The course covers the following units: The course covers the following units: Health and safety in construction trades Working and communicating effectively in construction trades Construct woodworking joints Fit architrave and skirting Fit ironmongery to an internal door Mix construction materials Construct brick & Block walling Prepare common surface types for decoration Apply basic paint systems by brush and roller Apply foundation and plain papers

What you need to get on

Learners must have; 3 GCSEs grade 1 or above Successful interview with a Construction tutor A genuine interest in the subject Good communication skills A hardworking approach towards the industry

How you are assessed

Entry level and Level 1 study, English and maths retakes, and supported programmes.

What this level means

A first step that builds towards Level 2.
