Take your carpentry skills to the next level - with tools, techniques and confidence If you�ve already completed our Basic Carpentry course or have some hands-on experience, this intermediate course is your next step towards mastering the trade. You�ll build on your existing knowledge, refine your techniques, and start working with power tools in a safe and supportive environment. This course is ideal for learners looking to deepen their skills for personal projects, further study, or entry into the construction industry. You�ll complete a range of practical tasks designed to stretch your abilities and prepare you for real-world carpentry and joinery work. We recommend completing our Introduction to Carpentry course before undertaking this qualification, to ensure you have the foundational skills required for this formally assessed course. The units you will study include: Introduction to Health & Safety in Construction Introduction to the Construction Industry Constructing Halving Joints Constructing Housing Joints Constructing Angled Halving Joints Constructing Bridle Joints Constructing Stub Mortice and Tenon Joints This course leads to a City & Guilds Level 1 Certificate in Construction Skills. Throughout the course, and upon completion of practical tasks, you will receive feedback from your tutor to help identify your strengths and areas for development. All tasks will be designed and carried out in accordance with industry standards and expectations.
