What the college says

The qualifications at Level 1 are designed for those wishing to enter the industry and for those wanting to gain a welding, metal fabrication, thermal cutting or brazing and soldering qualification for their own personal skills development. The Core Component: The course allows candidates to learn, develop and practice the skills required for employment and/or career progression in the engineering sector. The learner will complete welding areas in Tungsten Inert Gas welding, Metal Inert Gas welding and Manual Metal Arc welding.

What you need to get on

An initial assessment of each learner will be made before the start of their programme to identify: * if the learner has any specific training needs * support and guidance they may need when working towards their qualifications * any units they have already completed or credit they have accumulated which is relevant to the qualification * the appropriate type and level of qualification

How you are assessed

Entry level and Level 1 study, English and maths retakes, and supported programmes.
