What the college says
Studying Law gives students an understanding of the role of Law in today's society and raises their awareness of the rights and responsibilities of individuals. By learning about legal rules and how and why they apply to real life, students also develop their analytical ability, decision making, critical thinking and problem-solving skills. All these skills are highly sought after by higher education and employers. This course provides grounding in the main principles of English Law and their development. It enables students to develop knowledge, understanding and critical awareness of the structure, personnel and functions of the English Legal System, Criminal Law and the Law of Tort. In year 2 students will study Contract Law.
What you need to get on
2 Year Course - Normally 5 GCSE grades in the range of 9-4, including Mathematics and English (Minimum Grade 4) and English or a Humanities subject (minimum Grade 5).
How you are assessed
Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.

The A-level-equivalent step, and what universities and employers ask for.
