What the college says

This course assumes you have studied Spanish for about 4 years and can cope with confidence in an informal social situation, using present, past and future tenses. You will work towards the SEG Awards (Skills and Education group is the Awarding Body) Level 2 Award in Speaking and Listening in Spanish. This involves compiling a small portfolio of assessments done in class which will then be internally and externally verified. All fees include the cost of this accreditation. IMPORTANT: If you are aged between 19 and 23 years old and wish to study this course, please contact us at languages1@croydon.gov.uk BEFORE YOU ENROL, as we will need to check your eligibility for funding.

What you need to get on

This course assumes you have studied Spanish for 3-4 years. You might already have a GCSE which you want to refresh. You are probably fairly confident using the present, future and past tenses but still need practice to increase confidence and fluency. If you are new to CALAT, please contact us at languages1@croydon.gov.uk before enrolling so that we can check your level and make sure this is the right course for you.

How you are assessed

Learning a trade with tools and equipment, often in a college workshop or salon.

The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
