What the college says
This course assumes you have studied Spanish for 2-3 years and can cope in an informal social situation including making references to the past. You will work towards the SEG Awards (Skills and Education group is the Awarding Body) Level 1 Award in Reading and Writing in Spanish. This involves compiling a small portfolio of assessments done in class which will then be internally and externally verified. All fees include the cost of this accreditation.
What you need to get on
You should have at least 2 years’ of study and the ability to get by in the language, holding short, simple conversations. Learners should be able to: Make simple arrangements. Understand public announcements. Hold short conversations about recent activities. Talk about events in the past in simple terms. Express preferences for future trips and holidays.
How you are assessed
Entry level and Level 1 study, English and maths retakes, and supported programmes.

A first step that builds towards Level 2.
