Do you enjoy working with your hands and being outdoors in all weathers? Would you like to develop your skills in growing plants and maintaining gardens, parks and green spaces? This is a College-based course for 16-18 year old studentswho want to develop basic practical skills and knowledge in working with a range of decorative plants, horticultural tools and equipment. It can lead to employment in the horticultural industry, for example in grounds maintenance or as a self-employed gardener.
What you need to get on
The entry requirements for this course are:----3 GCSEs at grade E or above to include English and Maths ( or equivalent)--A good level of physical fitness to carry out digging and other physical tasks related to the industry.----
How you are assessed
Entry level and Level 1 study, English and maths retakes, and supported programmes.
What this level means
A first step that builds towards Level 2.
