What the college says
This is an exciting vocational course that has been designed for those interested in developing their practical performance skills with a view to working in the performing arts industry. Throughout the course you will study a range of units that are designed to give you the practical skills needed to progress within the performing arts industry, including a performance project, group ensemble performance and development of vocal and physical skills. Students will work on scripted plays from a range of genres. There are exciting opportunities to work with industry professionals and go on our annual London trip to see West End theatre. What you need to get on
Four GCSEs at grade 3-9 OR Successful completion of a relevant Level 1 course at Merit level. Both options also require a prepared audition piece.
How you are assessed
Learning a trade with tools and equipment, often in a college workshop or salon.
What this level means
The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
