The electrical installation apprenticeship is suitable for any individual who wishes to become an installation electrician. The candidate will undertake the City & Guilds 5357 NVQ Level 3 Qualification consisting of knowledge units and performance units. This involves both practical and theory elements. The apprenticeship also includes Functional Skills in Mathematics and English, at Level 2. The apprenticeship takes approximately 48 months to complete, however previous qualifications can reduce this. All candidates are required to be employed by an electrical contractor to undertake the apprenticeship.

What you need to get on

Success at Initial Assessment: - Assessment in Maths & English (completed online, at the training centre). - Interview with a member of the recruitment team. - Confirmation from an optician regarding colour vision. Candidates are requested to hold GCSE qualifications in Maths and English, grade 4-9 or their equivalent, at entry point to the apprenticeship. Valid qualifications at this level will exempt the candidate from undertaking Functional Skills, as part of the apprenticeship.
