What is the course about? Historical themes and in depth studies covering Early Modern and Modern. British and World History, from the Seventeenth to the Twentieth Century. The study of Historical controversies and the development of analytical and critical thinking skills. The consideration of frameworks, organisations, and belief systems to understand how and why people behaved as they did in the past, and the relevance for the world today. An independent personal enquiry which will develop research, communication, and study skills; relevant for Higher Education and employment. What kind of students is this course suitable for? To study History you need to have an interest in people and the world around you, an enquiring mind and the ability to weigh up different evidence or arguments. You will need to be willing to learn independently and with others.
