In the first year of A Level or for AS Level, you will study two broad topics that are linked by a period or a theme. You will look at broad developments and changes in the periods studied through a range of perspectives such as social, political and cultural. During the second year of your A Level, you will carry out a depth study of an extended period of history, and will gain a firm understanding of the key issues, problems and debates associated with it.

What you need to get on

Entry into the Sixth Form requires six passes at GCSE Level (Grades 9-5) including English and at least a Grade 4 in Maths. This course requires Grade 6 in History if taken or Grade 5 in English.

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
