The course specifications offer students the chance to study aspects of 19th and 20th Century political, social and economic history with a focus upon a comparison between the development of the USA and Britain in the 20th Century. They will develop various skills as well as detailed knowledge and understanding. Three of the units will be assessed through examination with one piece of coursework. Unit 1: Britain Transformed 1918-97, Unit 2: The USA 1920-55 Boom, Bust and Recovery, Unit 3: British Experience of Warfare c1790-1918, Unit 4: Coursework (Origins of World War One)

What you need to get on

Minimum five 9-4 grades at GCSE to include 6 grade in GCSE History (if studied) or grade 6 in GCSE English Language or English Literature

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
