Have you ever wondered about the world we live in and why it’s turned out like this? Have you ever asked yourself: who is in control, and why them? Have you ever questioned: who are the communists and how have they shaped our world? If the answer to any of these questions is ‘yes’, then you should consider studying A level history! We study a wide variety of units at A Level. Topics build on the foundational skills gained at GCSE, whilst developing higher level analysis and writing skills useful in many vocations and undergraduate study.

What you need to get on

An average GCSE point score of 4.5+, including grade 5 in English language or literature, and grade 4 in mathematics. Skills and attributes: A good level of literacy and ability to write in detail; a passion for learning about the subject.

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
