It teaches you how to analyse, evaluate and interpret evidence effectively and enables you to develop excellent literacy, thinking and debating skills. History gives you detailed knowledge of past events and knowing how people lived and behaved in the past helps you to understand why people and governments act like they do today.

What you need to get on

A minimum of 4 GCSEs at grade 6 with at least grade 4 in English and Mathematics. You should also have grade 5 or above in GCSE History.

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
