History is a very challenging subject and a very popular one at the school. Excellent results are achieved by the Department and expert guidance is given. The subject will not only help to enhance knowledge and understanding but will help you form opinions and justify them according to factual evidence. You will be encouraged to expand your reading, contribute in class, keep structured notes and develop a fluent written style. Unit 4 is based on coursework assignment with students having a choice of specialist research topics. The subject is in two option blocks and the two groups follow different options of intriguing developments in modern history.

What you need to get on

5 x GCSE grade 5+ including English and Maths.

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
