The BTEC Extended Certificate in Health and Social Care aims to provide an introduction to the sector. It is for learners who are interested in learning about the health and social care sector as part of a balanced study programme. The course consists of four units, two are assessed internally through the completion of coursework and the other two are externally assessed. Topics include, Human Lifespan Development, Working in Health and Social Care, Meeting Individual Care and Support Needs and Supporting Individuals with Additional Needs.

What you need to get on

In order to follow an academic Level 3 programme of study you should have achieved five or more GCSE (or equivalent) Grade 4 or above, including English Language or Literature and Mathematics. Where you do not meet the requirements, but feel that there are good reasons why you should be allowed on the course; please feel free to come and discuss this with one of the Sixth Form team.
